Increase your International Business at SHOT 2019!
In partnership with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), we at the U.S. Department of Commerce are excited to offer U.S. exhibitors at the 2019 Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Tradeshow (SHOT) the following programs to help increase their international sales!
BUSINESS-TO-GOVERNMENT (B2G) PROGRAM: This program offers you a unique opportunity to meet with our U.S. Embassy Commercial Specialists who are our “boots on the ground” resource for U.S. companies looking to expand their presence overseas. They cover the Safety/Security and Sporting Goods sectors for their countries and help U.S. companies develop their market entry/expansion strategies, share insights on the market, and can help find your company pre-screened distributors and partners in their markets.
The following countries are tentatively scheduled to participate: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Colombia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
We are also offering appointments with representatives from the following agencies:
- Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS) – U.S. Department of Commerce: BIS is an agency of the United States Department of Commerce that has broad jurisdiction over both commercial items and some items that also have a military application. Examples of items that fall under BIS jurisdiction include certain shotguns & rifle scopes, some types of body armour, police equipment, and hunting equipment. U.S. companies can request meetings with a BIS Counselor (to learn more about the regulations) and/or a BIS Agent to (learn how to recognize red flags and how to recognize and report possible violations).
- Office of Textiles & Apparel (OTEXA) – U.S. Department of Commerce: OTEXA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce that focuses on helping American apparel, textile, and footwear (including eyewear) manufacturers expand their exports.
- Small Business Administration (SBA) - The Small Business Administration (SBA) provides a number of financial assistance programs to meet the needs of small businesses for both domestic and international growth. These Programs have been specifically designed to meet key financial needs such as debt restructure, working capital, surety bonds, and equity financing
B2B PROGRAM: Let us help you, the U.S. supplier, connect with international buyers before, during, and after the show, through our matchmaking platform, which allows U.S. companies to request meetings with international buyers our U.S. Embassies are recruiting to attend SHOT 2019. Simply check the "networking" form box when registering.
MEETING DETAILS: These one-on-one appointments can take place, either at your booth or at International Trade Center located in the Bassano Ballroom of the Venetian, Level 2, adjacent to the show floor. There is no fee to participate. All products and service must have at least 51% U.S. origin content (meaning the product is made here, assembled here, etc.; for services, we look for a min of 51% content that originates from the U.S.)
