CCLE XIX Summer Conference

Further Up and Further In: Lutheran Liberal Arts Today

We are excited to have you join us at CCLE XIX, hosted at Concordia University, Chicago.  The conference begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, and we conclude at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 18.  As conference approaches, please review the documents in the "Other Information" section below.

We are excited to be participating in a one-day co-conference with CALLA (Center for the Advancement of Lutheran Liberal Arts) on Wednesday.  We also have several optional activities planned, including a campus tour and a trip to the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College, a major research collection of materials by and about Owen Barfield, G. K. Chesterton, C. S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Dorothy Sayers, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams.

Partnering with CALLA, Concordia Chicago, and St. Paul Lutheran Church & School in Hamel, IL, we are also thrilled to offer a phenomenal line-up of sectionals for your children.  For grammar-stage children, sessions on Ancient, Middle Ages, & Modern History; Aesop; Greek and Roman gods; art & music; and Martin Luther & the Reformation will be offered.  Dialectic/Rhetoric stage sectionals will be offered for older students, taught by several CUC professors, including sessions on art, poetry, music, theology, and robotics.  We also will have childcare for babies and toddlers.  The children's program for grammar and for logic/rhetoric is completely full.  There are currently 2 spaces available for childcare for babies/toddlers.  Email Erika Mildred (treasurer@ccle.org) to check if a space is still available.

Please note that every individual participant needs a separate registration form completed, including children.  This year, lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday and the CCLE banquet Wednesday evening are all included in the registration price.

Also, please note that the campus dining hall will not be serving dinner on Monday and Tuesday evenings.  There is a three-page list of area restaurants in the "Other Information" section below.
